Chardonnay
Chardonnay is a white variety which is grown globally and is incredibly versatile, delighting winemakers who innovate the production of Chardonnay. Whilst the classics are still widely recognised as iconic; Chardonnay is the main grape used in Burgundy and also Champagne, quite the accolade. Elegant styles that are produced are crystal clear, flinty, mineral wines. However, Chardonnay also has the potential to create also wines with depth minerality and great potential for ageing. Winemakers are able to explore different winemaking styles to create beautiful and complex whites, many of which are very food friendly.
