Sangiovese
Sangiovese is one of the most important grapes in Italy, a grape which embodies the soul of the country. This is reflected in its rustic earthy aromas, with fresh tomato and bright red cherry notes. This wine was made for pairing with Italian food. It is best known for producing Chianti and for its stronghold in Super Tuscans. A well rounded grape with balanced acidity and tannins gives an excellent structure to wine. Sangiovese has many different genetic variations, there are often complex and expressive wines that explore the terroir of Italy. It has become a popular variety in America, where ripe and bold wines are being produced.
