Malbec
A black grape variety that has aromas of dark berries, damson and a distinctive violet note. With soft, ripe tannins and often high alcohol, this grape produces powerful and structured wines. Famously known as the grape of Mendoza, Argentina, it is also famed in Cahors, France – where it produces more concentrated flavours of dried fruits, tobacco and chocolate. Malbec is grown all over the world where it expresses different nuances. When one pines for a cosy glass of red, this is definitely the go-to, it is also incredible to pair food with.
