Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Riserva “MONTEBUONI”

£39.00

Known for the elegance, freshness, innate intensity and depth of its wines, critic Antonio Galloni has one stated, “Tuscan estate Castello di Ama has crafted some of the most riveting wines in Tuscany… Simply put, there are few estates in Italy at this level.”

Owners Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti have been making wines here since the 1970s, around the hamlet of Ama, perched 450-550 metres above sea level. Castello di Ama is known for their commitment to excellence, which they believe begins in the vineyards. This is shown through respect and care for the land, manual processing of the grapes, and very low yields per acre to produce world class wines!

A recently new addition to Castello di Ama’s Chianti Classico Riserva range, the “MONTEBUONI” was aimed to strike a fine balance between approachability and complexity. Made from younger vines from the estate, this allows the wine to develop depth without coming too austere. The wine displays a deep ruby red colour with purple nuances. The nose is fruit forward, carrying scents of Blueberry, tomato leaf, raspberry, dried herbs and baking spices. The palate is well balanced, refined and harmonic, with a long-lasting aromatic finish.
