Niepoort Wines, founded in 1842, is currently managed by the 5th generation of the Niepoort family, Dirk Niepoort. Although a small winery, it has gained a noteworthy international reputation for its port and still wines. The objective behind the creation of the Drink Me series was to produce a white wine that is easy to drink, yet maintains complexity, mineral notes, and great depth – much like a classic Douro wine.
The wine displays a pale yellow hue and a slight green rim. It is a well-structured white wine, with plenty of citrus and minerality. This fresh wine showcases herbaceous and citrus aromas, and its youthful character on the palate is enhanced by its partial fermentation in French oak barrels, which improves the wine’s balance and elongates the finish. It is a wine of great finesse and elegance, with an electric finish that lingers.
