Andrew and Emma from Le Grappin are non-interventionalist in their approach and focus on the purity of the fruit that goes into their wines. Le Grappin is a prime example of the new wave of vignerons who have been drawn to Burgundy to make modern yet classic examples of superb parcels of wine.
The 2016 vintage offer nose of cherries and ripe strawberries with hints of green stalky notes, gravelly and chalky mineral notes. The stalks add a classical touch to the aroma, giving it a subtle vintage feel. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is layered with cherry and cranberry flavours. The associated berry bitterness is complemented by good concentration of fruit, good acidity, some tannins, and light spice notes. It has good substance, especially after 8 years of bottle ageing!
