The 2002 Blanc de Blancs is composed from the Grands Crus Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger. Made only of Chardonnay grapes coming from the heart of the Cote des Blancs region.Marked by low rainfall and high temperatures, 2002 stood out for its temperate summer, where consistent temperatures encouraged the grapes to ripen gradually. The hot days and cold nights in September benefited the berries to ripe with aromatic richness. Although the yield was affected by conditions, the grapes harvested were concentrated and very aromatic.
The wine has an intense golden colour with a green hint on the rim. Bubbles are extra fine, just like foam. Brilliant aromas of citrus fruits, fresh almonds and white flowers. The lively and mouthwatering acidity pair for a lengthy elegant finish of candied lemon, marzipan and pastries.
Limited bottles available, especially a Blanc de Blanc with 20 years+ ageing from Bruno Paillard House.
