Joe Swan founded the estate forty eight years ago in Sonoma County. He believed winemaking should be small crops to produce more intense, age worthy wines. Joe’s last vintage was in 1987, followed by Rob and Lynn Berglund who run the estate today.
This is a full-bodied but very appetising and easy-drinking Syrah from Russian River Valley, California. The 2003 vintage has notes of ripe red currant, baked purple plums and nuances of fresh tobacco leaves, graphite and a savoury pepperiness. With 20 years of bottle ageing, you will find dried fruit elements, such as dried plum and cranberries in the wine, as well as savoury and meaty notes. This wine will pair beautifully with lamb or duck dishes, and ragu pasta dishes.
Only limited bottles are available, so don’t miss your chance to get this beautifully aged bottle made by the legendary producer in California.
