Savaterre Estate Shiraz

Savaterre’s vineyard has been named in the top 25 vineyards in Australia and with good cause. The wines they make have been compared by many critics to hold balance and complexity on a similar level to Burgundy. There is minimal interference in Keppel Smith’s wines, he lets nature takes its course. The wine is matured for 18 months in the best French barrels before maturing in bottle prior to release. This wine is served in First Class on Emirates alongside some of the world’s best wines; a testament to its quality and achieves consistent scores of 95-98 points by critics.

The Shiraz is such an aromatic floral wine. Flavours leap out of the glass at you of underlying forest berries and fresh earthy aromas. The Savaterre shiraz is a much finer example than most Shiraz’s out there. The wine has a wonderful freshness and precision on the palate with flavours of sweet spice, morello cherry, violets and black raspberry fruit. It is medium/full-bodied wine with a striking minerality. Fine-grained tannins ensure a long future of textural pleasure. A seamless palate and silky texture keep you intrigued. A serious, complete, balanced and concentrated wine. So elegant and effortless. Will last 15 years+. Best enjoyed decanted 30 minutes or more beforehand.
