Savaterre’s vineyard has been named in the top 25 vineyards in Australia and with good cause. The wines they make have been compared by many critics to hold balance and complexity on a similar level to Burgundy. There is minimal interference in Keppel Smith’s wines, he lets nature takes its course. The wine is matured for 18 months in the best French barrels before maturing in bottle prior to release. This wine is served in First Class on Emirates alongside some of the world’s best wines; a testament to its quality.
This wine is a golden lemon colour in the glass with aromas of citrus fruits and elderflower, there is a touch of nuttiness alongside an enticing toastiness. In the mouth, the wine is juicy, textured and ‘fleshy’ with delicious flavours of peach, exotic fruits and lemon. The oak is well integrated and adds a layer of complexity along with a huge backbone of mouthwatering acidity. Super long aftertaste and super sophisticated at this price point.
