A family business dating back 1842, Niepoort’s mission is to maintain its position of “niche player”, continuing to produce distinctive ports and Douro wines, combining centuries-old tradition with innovation. Under the current stewardship of the fifth generation winemakers Eduard Dirk Niepoort and Verena Niepoort, they believe the incorporation of rigorous site selection in conjunction with biodynamic techniques will result in wines with tremendous concentration and complexity, without sacrificing balance or poise.
Brick red and brown, with a hint of orange hues at the rim. This port offers expressive aromas of crystallised fruit and dried apricots which come through on the palate along with a smooth texture and well-integrated nutty character on the lingering finish.
