The van der Niepoort family are an iconic ‘legacy’ producer in Portugal dating back to 1842. Lesser-known than the big Port houses, in our view they are massively under-rated as a smaller, more precise winery, and have a strong link with not just Port but also brilliant dry/table wines from all over Portugal.
This 1935 vintage is a rare find and is aging beautifully. The port is showing light brown colour with a subtle gold rim. Very expressive and concentrated aroma of dried flowers, ripped apricots, peaches, toasted nuts and vanilla. The palate is well-balanced with the lengthy acidity, round texture and incredibly long finish. An extreme rare find and we only have very limited in stock!
