Just half an acre of Blaufrankisch is grown in the Wiemer blocks and is one of the last to be harvested to ensure it builds additional ripeness in this earthy and fruity grape. It has a relatively light structure; blackcurrant and blueberry aromas, cherry and blackcurrant core ahead of a long, spicy, peppery finish. A superb example of Blaufrankish flourishing in a short ripening, cooler climate.
