Fondo Antico from the Polizzotti-Scuderi family have 80 hectares of vineyards located in Contrada Portelli, in the Trapani area of Sicily. The family has owned the estate since the early 1800s and began producing wine in 1920. Tradition, heritage, and an understanding of the terroir are what create the beautiful wines from Fondo Antico.
Fondo Antico’s Etna Bianco is delightful mix of citrus, white flowers, and a hint of volcanic influence in its aroma. The taste is refreshing, featuring a crisp acidity and a well-balanced blend of green apple, pear, and peach flavors, complemented by a stony quality from the volcanic soil. The wine has a satisfying weight on the palate, and its finish is both lingering and subtly saline.
