Made in tiny quantities, this is the flagship wine of the Estate – what The Evening Standard called “the best wine Romania has ever produced”. The grapes are grown on a small sandy ridge (hence the name) and produce naturally low yielding, intensely aromatic grapes. This wine shows the true potential of the native red grape Fetească Neagră which is relatively unknown in Western wine tastes. In the glass the wine has an incredible, lush expression of dark berries, plums, pepper and spices and whilst tannins feature in the profile of the wine, they are finely integrated into an elegant, full-bodied, concentrated and long journey.
