Channing Daughters Over & Over – Variation 14

Nestled in New York State, the Long Island region is an upcoming wine region on the east coast. Channing Daughters has been growing two dozen varieties across 11 hectares of vineyards since 1982.

Over & Over is a blend made in solera system, resulting in a complex and layered flavour profile. Starting with 4 barriques of 2004 Merlot, it was re-passed over to the fresh 2006 Merlot and Dornfelder fruit, undergoing primary fermentation and another malo-lactic fermentation. This process repeated over and over until the 2020 harvest (hence the name of the wine!).

Variation 14 is a mixed vintage from 2004 to 2020. The wine offers aromas of bright blackberries, dark cherry, violets, prunes, black pepper and a touch of baking spice, with well-integrated oak elements in the backbone. This medium-bodied red wine is well-balanced and polished, with a lingering finish.
