Numa, a winemaker with 9 generations of family history in winemaking and extensive experience in various regions like Bordeaux, Chateauneuf du Pape, Australia and Switzerland, has found his passion in Burgundy. He has chosen to focus on making wines from Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits, with vines planted between 1985 and 1992 to create pure and elegant wines. His wines are aged with patience and maturity, allowing their unique character to shine without being overpowered by oak elements. Numa’s small project, starting with 3.5 hectares, is one to watch out for, especially with the addition of Vosne Romanee vines to the farm in the 2023 vintage.
This wine has a beautiful ruby colour and a delightful fragrance of wild cherry, liquorice, and sweet spices. Give it a few swirls, the earthy notes and mushrooms will reveal and add depth to the flavour. The wine is balanced with fresh acidity and well-integrated tannins, creating a pleasing mouthfeel. The finish lingers with hints of red berries. This is a great example of the unique characteristics of the Cote de Nuits-Villages region.
