Howard’s Folly sources fruit from the region of Portalegre, in North-East Alentejo. Cooler temperatures, high altitude sites and mineral soils where old vines have thrived for nearly a century, produce wines of great complexity and freshness.
Their Sonhador Branco wine is a big blend of grapes that provide a medley of flavours. Honeyed citrus, lychees and toast with a creamy texture and fresh acidity gives a great balance and a long finish. Matthew Jukes reviewed this as “kaleidoscopically perfumed, finely balanced with oak adding drama, this is one of the most arresting Portuguese whites I have ever tasted.”
