Made from 40-year-old vines in clay-gravel soil, this traditional blend with a modern, expressive edge and organic certification. The Grand Français Origines wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
We described this wine as ‘shinier’ than its younger sibling. Tons and tons of fruit in a very pure and lifted nose. Oak ageing is brilliantly integrated with a nose of sweet fig, red and black cherry. In the mouth, the fruit in the wine is perfectly set with it’s oak ‘frame’. Tannins are extremely soft and elegant; pure, sweet and dried fruits provide a luscious mouthfeel. A brilliant find for us to import this, especially at the price given that just a few thousand bottles are made.
