Owners Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti have been making wines here since the 1970s, around the hamlet of Ama, perched 450-550 metres above sea level. Castello di Ama is known for their commitment to excellence, which they believe begins in the vineyards. This is shown through respect and care for the land, manual processing of the grapes, and very low yields per acre to produce world class wines!

L`Apparita was first produced in 1985 as the first 100% Merlot single-vineyard Tuscan wine, and since then, has gained worldwide recognition for its exceptional quality and distinct character. The 2020 L’Apparita is sublime. A wine of compelling inner perfume and exotic richness, the 2020 is shaping up to be one of the great L’Apparitas. Inky dark fruit, espresso, liquorice, lavender and crushed rock. Only produced in the best vintages at miniscule amounts, the L’Apparita will be the crown Jewel of any Italian wine collection.
