The 2008 Millésimé Champagne is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes from the top ten sites in the Champagne region. The average temperatures during the spring to harvest season were slightly better than the past 30-year average. This resulted in the slow ripening of the grapes, which helped to retain their beautiful acidity in the 2008 vintage. The Champagne was aged on the lees for seven years, which gave it an intense texture, energetic freshness, and creaminess. Hence, it was named “Energy”.
The wine radiates a pale yellow gold from the glass, with extremely fine and lively bubbles. It reveals aromas of small red fruits, wild berries, cherries, and a touch of ripe citrus notes. The palate is vibrant and lavish, delivering notes of spice and ripe fruit, with fresh almonds and wild strawberries. The creamy mouthfeel and full-bodied will carry you to the lingering mineral finish.
2008 is a great vintage for champagne, combining maturity with lively energy.
