The shiraz grapes are fermented on their skins for about seven days which extracts the colour and texture from the skins. Because the wine is further matured in French oak barrels (70% new and 30% used), the wine develops a delicious roundness but also a surprisingly fresh mid-palate.
This fruit-driven wine is layered with dark ripe fruits like cherry, soft prune and black currant flavours alongside a little dustiness and fragrant violets. Expect cool cassis scents on the nose with aromatic layers of peppery spiciness. The wine has a very velvety mouth-feel and lingering finish.
