Moulin aux Moines is situated in the centre of Côte de Beaune, in the village of Auxey-Duresses. This famous “clos” has been cultivated and harvested since its establishment by the monks of the Abbey of Cluny and later by those of the Abbey of Citeaux since 962, continuing for six hundred years until today.
In 2008, the team initiated the revival of the historic values of its legendary wines, in line with the principles of organic and biodynamic philosophy. Willy Roulendes joined Moulin aux Moines in 2009 to manage the vineyards and the cellar after spending several years at Domaine de Montille. He brought his personal touch to produce vibrant terroir wines and led the team to obtain organic and biodynamic certifications.
The 2015 vintage is dark and spicy, with notes of wild strawberry and raspberry, rye and fresh red pepper, alongside peppery flavours of allspice and a breath of lovage. On the palate, the wine is light with concentration notes of red berries, spices and a touch of earthiness. The subtle yet grippy tannins and the stretched acidity on the palate bring you to the almost endless mineral length.
