The Eyrie Vineyard in Oregon stands as a living testament to the birth of Oregon’s wine industry. Pioneer in the truest sense, David Lett was the first to plant vines in the Dundee Hills, Oregon in 1965. He believed Willamette Valley would be the second-best home for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay outside Burgundy. Apart from the suitable climate, David also selected the most iconic soil: Jory, now Oregon’s state soil, formed from volcanic flows 15 to 17 million years ago.
Today, there are 300+ wineries in Oregon, The Eyrie Vineyards continues to shape Oregon’s wine legacy, crafting wines that reflect the unique character of their land and the enduring spirit of the region’s style.
The aroma is filled with notes of black cherry, dried cherry, dried herbs, and a subtle hint of mint. On the palate, it is light, fresh, and ripe, with juicy cherry and cranberry flavours that are perfectly balanced with acidity. The finish is long and complex, with warm savoury spices like cinnamon, anise, and liquorice that add depth to the wine. This Pinot Noir from Eyrie is truly exceptional. It showcases the delicate yet intense flavours that Oregon Pinot Noir is known for.
