This appellation is the only grand-cru site in the whole of the Loire Valley (!). It being so, you can imagine the purity, finesse and length this wine will possess.
Whilst the hallowed sweet wines of France come from Bordeaux, this is a definite competitor to Sauternes; it is super-intense whilst light on its feet. At over 10 years old, this sweet wine is now developing nicely into notes of honey and quince, toffee apple, caramel and caramelised aspects with a decadent, rich mouthfeel. 145g of sugar/L.
