Released only in exceptional vintages, the M53 is a rare beast and made in tiny volumes – only three barrels, and this is the second time it has been produced.
This 2010 vintage is lifted and perfumed; blackberry essence, smokiness, mulberry, tar, dark chocolate, pepper spice and a touch of toasty brioche from the new French oak used to age it. In the mouth, it is deep, long and complex. Blackberry compote, sweet spices, cherry cola, rum & raisin chocolate finished with fine long lingering tannins, layers and weight.
This wine will age extremely well; in excess of 20 years if stored correctly.
