Aged in ancient century-old chestnut vats, this wine speaks clearly of its terroir. Within the Cume de Avia range, it is a more generous, fuller wine (thanks to the gutsy Souson within the blend). It has a layered and complex nose of pomegranate, exotic fruits and subtle nuances of dried herbs and spices. It has generous lifted aromatics and on the palate is full of juicy cherry, pomegranate, reducrrants, raspberries and red berries. Just a touch of grip on the sides of the mouth but underpinned by a huge minerality which carries through an extremely long, cleansing finish. If tasted blind, it would be somewhere between Cru Beaujolais and a top Northern Rhone red, or even more specifically Gamay grown on volcanic or mineral soil.
