Created in 1988 as a tribute to the co-founder Elisabeth Salmon, this extremely delicate wine has an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This great wine with extreme finesse, its delicate personality of texture and flavour has aromatic charm with a rare mineral dimension. If their house rosé was not enough to shout about – this may be the ultimate rosé Champagne.
2008 is regarded as possibly the best-ever vintage of Elisabeth and has been hugely popular since its release, scoring 98 points with some critics.
On the nose, there is a refreshing expression of citrus peel and red berry jelly with a rich and complex aromatic generosity of rose, cherry and white peaches. The palate gives a definite and linear zippy acidity, a wine balanced in fruit, dryness and length. In the mouth maturing of flavours of mandarin, blood orange and apple tart stay with you to a chalky, persistent finish of lightly candied citron. Serving Temperature: 11/12°C.
