Domaine de Bellevue is a renowned certified organic and biodynamic producer in the Pays Nantais that is forging a modern path for Muscadet through creative winemaking, fearless experimentation and true passion thanks to Jerome Bretaudeau. Because of his freestyle experimentation with various ageing periods, vessels and grape varieties, almost all his wines are sold as Vin De France. Many have developed cult-like followings abroad and are difficult to secure most years.
With 12 years of bottle age, this Muscadet has gracefully evolved from its youthful citrus-driven vibrancy into something far more layered and compelling. The nose now offers a complex bouquet of honeyed grapefruit, crushed mint, flint, and gentle baking spice, underscored by a waxy depth and subtle oxidative notes. On the palate, it echoes the elegance of a mature Chablis, with a creamy texture balanced by preserved acidity and a mineral backbone. Hints of lemon oil, toasted hazelnut, and saline linger on the long, savoury finish.
A stunning example of how time can transform a coastal white into something truly profound.
