Dreaming of that heat and seaside air? There are few island experiences as dreamy as Santorini; which arguably makes the best Greek wines. Vassaltis is in our eyes the best producer on the island, making incredibly complex, delicious and saline wines that transport you back to sitting on that oceanside Oia terrace. This is Yannis’ oak barreled version which adds complexity and character. These wines for us, are alike and akin to top-notch Chablis with their huge, stony minerality.
An elegant pale yellow colour, with hints of golden hue in the glass. This oaked Assyrtiko is packed with dynamic aromas of vanilla, toast and citrus. Apart from echoing its aromas on the palate, it also offers a refreshing acidity and round texture. The finish has integrated oak elements and a lingering salinity. A complex Assyrtiko for white wine lovers!
