Ideally suited to cool-climate growing, Cabernet Franc is quickly gaining a reputation as the most-suited red wine grape for the Finger Lakes region where long autumns allow for slow ripening. The outcome is perfect ripeness that produces wines of exceptional depth and body.
HJ Wiemer’s Cab Franc is a dark cherry colour with a beautiful herbaceous nose of black cherry, peppered meat and green herbs. In the mouth, it is deliciously juicy with sweet cherry, berries, black cherry skin, and fruits of the forest in a generous and round mouthfeel. Savoury earthiness takes the finish through with some tannins which make it food-friendly and possible for 5+ years of age-ability if you can be patient enough.
