This is Grand Français’ top wine – a modern and successful experiment making 40-year-old Cab Franc vines in a traditional clay amphorae. Using clay instead of oak provides a smoother texture – a technique taken from Roman times. The wine is bottled without sulphur to preserve its purity.
A lovely deep purple colour from the glass. This wine opens with vibrant aromas of cherry, blackberry, and a subtle hint of slate, which gracefully unveils delicate floral notes of rose and peony. On the palate, it is dry and generous, showcasing layers of fresh fruit, cherry compote, blueberry pie, and warming baking spices. The texture is remarkably juicy and silky, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and finesse.
