Vintage Chateau de Miniere 100 year-old-vine 2009 Magnum

£57.00

This wine is made from the most select parcel of cabernet franc vines on the Miniere property that are at least 100 years old, still producing fruit. Because of their age, they producer grapes that yield much less juice, but of a much more intense and complex nature.

At 7 years old, the wine is still relatively young in its ageing capability. This is first seen by the ruby-purple colour in the glass. Unfined and unfiltered, the wine also has an attractive opaque purple depth to it and it is aged for 2 years in new and used oak barrels. Aromas of black fruit, black cherry and vanilla. A full-bodied and complex wine with similar, dark and black fruits with hints of baking spice on the long finish. This wine will benefit from at least 30 minutes decanting to start to open up fully and express itself. Recommended with grilled meat, game and concentrated sauces.
