Domaine de Bellevue is a renowned certified organic and biodynamic producer in the Pays Nantais that is forging a modern path for Muscadet through creative winemaking, fearless experimentation and true passion thanks to Jerome Bretaudeau. Because of his freestyle experimentation with various ageing periods, vessels and grape varieties, almost all his wines are sold as Vin De France. Many have developed cult-like followings abroad and are difficult to secure most years.
Pinot Gris is a fascinating choice for skin-contact wines thanks to its naturally deep-coloured skins. This wine reveals aromas of rose petals and ground pepper on the nose, followed by grapefruit, orange peel and red currant on the palate. The savoury touch and ripe fruit result in a refined, subtle, gastronomic wine.
A superb introduction to the category for the curious drinker and a must-try for low-intervention wine lovers.
