Bodegas Vinicola Real is an organic producer located in the heart of Rioja Alta, known for some of the highest-scoring wines in Spain. They do not use artificial herbicides and pesticides, opting for more natural methods of cultivation where they only hand-select the best parcels for each wine. 200 Monges Reserva is named after the 200 monks who inhabited the disappeared Monastery of San Martín de Albelda.
The 2013 vintage is showing a cherry colour from the glass. It has aromas of red fruits and blackberries, with notes of vanilla, eucalyptus, coffee, and mocha. On the palate, it is silky, unctuous, and well-balanced. It features elegant fruit notes with lively citrus touches of blood orange, giving it expressiveness and freshness. When poured into an open or decanted glass, it displays a great complexity of aromas and flavours.
