Niepoort Wines, founded in 1842, is currently managed by the 5th generation of the Niepoort family, Dirk Niepoort. Although a small winery, it has gained a noteworthy international reputation for its port and still wines. The objective behind the creation of the Drink Me series was to produce a white wine that is easy to drink, yet maintains complexity, mineral notes, and great depth – much like a classic Douro wine.
Medium deep ruby colour in the glass, this 2017 vintage is expressive, offering generous fruits of the forest and balsamic character, accompanied by floral notes. The palate is elegant and subtle, with very gentle tannins and a distinctive mineral profile. Its pleasant acidity and fruity freshness make this an easy and uncomplicated wine to enjoy.

“This dark-red-fruited well of pleasure as juicy and fresh, cheerful, bright and long. It’s delicious already as the oak influence is subtle and the tannins are very fine but there is absolutely no hurry to drink it.”
