Château de Beaucastel has long been regarded as one of the greatest wineries in France, notorious for its elegance, poise and ageing potential. Beaucastel has an exceptional terroir at the Northern point of Châteauneuf du Pape, exposed to the cooling Mistral wind which provides such balance. All thirteen grape varieties of the Chateauneuf have been organically grown since the sixties; without a doubt, Beaucastel is a name we are proud to highlight and an organic wine icon that many have learnt from.
The 2009 vintage is a beautifully balanced wine, offering both structure and finesse with soft, well-integrated tannins. The nose is simultaneously delicate and expressive, revealing layers of red fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, warm spices, thyme, and hints of lavender. On the palate, the bouquet evolves into a rich and rounded profile with notes of figs, cherries, stewed fruits, and blackcurrants, all lifted by vibrant acidity. The tannins are present yet refined, giving the wine a graceful texture and an elegant, lingering finish.
This vintage shares the hallmarks of great years like 2005 and 2007, showing excellent ageing potential and the promise of continued evolution in the bottle.
