Mark Haisma is an Aussie who made wine for a long time at the legendary producer, Yarra Yering in Australia. In 2009 he decided to step up and make more serious wines in the capital of Chardonnay & Pinot – Burgundy!
The nose is deeper and riper in tone, with layered stone-fruit and citrus aromas lifted by vibrant energy. On the palate, there is notable weight and substance at the base of the wine, yet it remains poised and lively, with fine acidity carrying the flavours. The texture is supple and refined, with just a whisper of tannic grip adding structure. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, showing both richness and finesse.
An outstanding village Chassagne that overdelivers in precision and complexity.
