Panoramico “O” Blanco (Oxidised)

A fortuitous white wine of oxidative ageing in Rioja – a unique style of wine from the region. Making from 20% of botrytis grapes, only 90% of the barrels were filled to allow oxidative ageing, and the wine remained in the barrels for a total of nearly 4 years before bottling.

Bright yellow, almost gold in colour. It is layered with complex and toasty aromas of walnut, bruised apple and dried apricot. The palate is showing notes of roasted nuts and umami, and the nut oil texture is supported by the lengthy nectar-like acidity. The saline note lingers in the finish of this oxidative-style white wine.

Only 992 bottles were produced in the 2014 vintage and we are so lucky to receive part of the allocation. Very limited availability, a perfect wine for cheese course or caramelised apple.
