The van der Niepoort family are an iconic ‘legacy’ producer in Portugal dating back to 1842. Lesser-known than the big Port houses, in our view they are massively under-rated as a smaller, more precise winery and have a strong link with not just Port but also brilliant dry/table wines from all over Portugal.
2017 has a voluptuous nose with great fruit, but also very spicy and peppery. On the palate, this port is highly concentrated, with huge structure, and massive tannins. A Vintage Port of power, elegance, and balance. A Vintage Port to last for decades to come!
