The 2019 Las Gundinas from Raúl Pérez shows a distinctly Rhône-like character, marrying generosity with refinement. Sourced from the warmer Gundinas vineyard, Pérez counterbalances its natural richness through élevage in larger barrels and foudres, alongside a return to wooden fermentation vats, preserving freshness and energy.

Deep violet in the glass, the nose is perfumed with ripe red and blue fruits, candied flowers, baking spices, and a whisper of truffled earth. The palate is smooth and juicy yet structured, offering layers of blackcurrant, cherry, and spice cake, lifted by vibrant acidity and a smoky mineral edge. Fine, building tannins frame the wine, while a touch of gaminess lingers on the long, persistent finish.
