Vintage Vidal-Fleury La Chatillonne Cote Rotie 2010

£75.00

From a tiny 0.8-hectare parcel in the Côte Blonde, La Chatillonne is a rare and elegant expression of Côte Rôtie, with only 3,000 bottles produced each year.

The 2010 vintage opens with a complex, layered nose of black fruits, baking spice, and black pepper, underscored by classic Côte Rôtie notes of bacon fat and leather. On the palate, layers of ripe plum, blackberry, and dark cherry are framed by silky tannins and lifted by the floral elegance of Viognier in the blend. Extended barrel maturation (nearly four years) has added plush texture and subtle nuances of coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Medium-bodied yet richly persistent.

This wine combines power with finesse, and while beautifully approachable now, it will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 5-10 years.
