Mark Haisma is an Aussie who made wine for a long time at the legendary producer, Yarra Yering in Australia. In 2009 he decided to step up and make more serious wines in the capital of Chardonnay & Pinot – Burgundy!
The nose is initially a touch restrained but quickly reveals a beautifully pure and seductive fruit profile. On the palate, a bright, precise wave of flavour flows seamlessly through the mid-palate, combining supple red fruit with fine mineral definition. The structure is present but refined, allowing the energy and clarity of the fruit to shine. The finish is long, vibrant, and impressively persistent.
2015 is a superb expression of La Charmotte, and in this vintage, it even surpasses the elegance of his Volnay wines.
