The van der Niepoort family are an iconic ‘legacy’ producer in Portugal dating back to 1842. Lesser-known than the big Port houses, in our view they are massively under-rated as a smaller, more precise winery and have a strong link with not just Port but also brilliant dry/table wines from all over Portugal.
The 2000 Passadouro possesses plenty of fruit and flora aromas. The palate is full bodied with velvety tannins and deep black fruits in the long finish.
