Vulcao makes textural, complex and saline mineral white wines in the Portuguese Azores Islands, in the heart of the Atlantic.
Vulcao Pe Do Monte Pico Riserva Grand Cru is produced from a blend of Arinto and Verdejo in old vineyards, between 70 and 80 years old, in the “lajidos” of Criação Velha. The wine is then vinified using native yeasts and is aged in oak before bottling to gain balance and complexity.
Displaying a bright gold in the glass, the wine is balanced with intense minerality, great texture and richness with notes of dried stone fruits, honey vanilla, sweet spice and an endless aftertaste.
A blockbuster wine that is a pleasure to enjoy now or can age gracefully for another 5-10 years.
