Vintage Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape 2014
£89.00
Château de Beaucastel has long been regarded as one of the greatest wineries in France, notorious for its elegance, poise and ageing potential. Beaucastel has an exceptional terroir at the Northern point of Châteauneuf du Pape, exposed to the cooling Mistral wind which provides such balance. All thirteen grape varieties of the Chateauneuf have been organically grown since the sixties; without a doubt, Beaucastel is a name we are proud to highlight and an organic wine icon that many have learnt from.
The slow maturation of the red grapes and long vinification provided aromatic wines with freshness and finesse. The Syrah is gorgeous and Grenache is fruity and balanced. This 2014 offers wines with lots of fruit and balance. The tannins are soft and silky, with lots of volume
“Sporting a deep ruby colour and terrific notes of blackberries, ground herbs, pepper and Provençal spice, this wine shows the more forward, charming nature of the vintage and is medium to full-bodied, pure and balanced. Drink it anytime over the coming decade…” – 93/100 Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck, 2016
