Our producer Bourcier Martinot is known for producing steely, mineral-laced Chardonnays. “Les Crays” is a land of limestone boulders located on the southern side of Macon’s Vergisson hill. It benefits from great sun exposure and is protected from Northern cold wind, producing a refreshing mineral wine rich. These plots are now classified as Premier Crus status, showing the recognised ability to produce brilliant, age-worthy wines with superb complexity.
The 2020 Pouilly Fuisse Premier Cru has a vibrant and zippy feel about it: ripe citrus, peach, lemon, lime and stone fruits notes are underpinned by subtle fine saline stony flavours, and there is a gentle hint of supporting oak throughout. The structure is superb and will provide the ability for up to 10 years, a top-class Burgundy Chardonnay with a delicate minerality and a long finish.
