Top scoring Monte Bello from Ridge? One of the worlds best wines, from a historic and iconic vintage. It is an incredibly complex and layered wine which is now, after 20 years of ageing it is fully mature and now into its perfect drinking window.
The year 2005 produced an excellent vintage with moderate summer and autumn, resulting in perfectly ripened fruits at harvest. After spending 17 months in new American oak, the wine has developed spice aromas resembling clove, vanilla, allspice, tobacco, toasty oak, and significant blackberry notes from the dominant varietal – Cabernet Sauvignon. The bold and structured palate is framed with black fruit, cassis, and thick but well-coated tannins. The wine’s vibrant acidity and long clean finish give it an extra lift. This is a superb and balanced vintage that can be enjoyed now or aged for the next decade.
Only limited bottles are available for this almost 20-year-old wine!
