Vintage Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape 2012
£94.00
Château de Beaucastel has long been regarded as one of the greatest wineries in France, notorious for its elegance, poise and ageing potential. Beaucastel has an exceptional terroir at the Northern point of Châteauneuf du Pape, exposed to the cooling Mistral wind which provides such balance. All thirteen grape varieties of the Chateauneuf have been organically grown since the sixties; without a doubt, Beaucastel is a name we are proud to highlight and an organic wine icon that many have learnt from.
The 2012 vintage offers a full-bodied, decadent Chateauneuf Du Pape, with awesome black and blue fruits, liquorice, crushed flowers and violets. The purity here is truly something, and it has fabulous mid-palate concentration, building tannin and massive texture. Given all of the fruit and texture here, the wine is excellent to drink now, but will still be alive and kicking after two decades and beyond! We highly recommend to decant the wine for a minimum. of 45 mins to an hour before enjoying it.
