Vintage Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape 1999

£129.00

Château de Beaucastel has long been regarded as one of the greatest wineries in France. Their exceptional terroir at the Northern point of Châteauneuf du Pape, exposed to the cooling Mistral wind, which provides such balance. All thirteen grape varieties of the Chateauneuf have been organically grown since the sixties, a pioneer in organic and biodynamic viticulture.

Deep garnet in colour, the 1999 shows a mature bouquet of brandied cherries, wood spice, and earthy undergrowth. The palate is soft and evolved, with gentle notes of forest floor and dried fruit, finishing long and savoury. Though now fully developed, it retains a fine balance and charm.

A rare back-vintage release, perfect for those seeking the complexity only time can bring.
